neo geo Kawaks

Does anyone know how to add a game into Kawaks game list. I have programs RomCenter and clrmamepro and they are kind of confusing not much in terms of documentations on them.

Kawaks has a feature for netplay to allow someone else like a friend to connect so we can do coin-up like in street fighter. See, I have a game called SNK vs capcom and it's not in the list. However, neoragex can play it just fine since you can actually choose the zip file. Why other emus don't do this is beyond me. Unofortuately Neoragex 5.0 does't have netplay from what I've seen.

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction or help me figure out how to add my title into Kawaks emulator.

the name if the zip file is svcplus.zip just fyi if that helps any. Also I do have the latest version of Kawaks 1.55.

You need RomData maker and Kawaks 1.46 + loader.

Open the rom in RomData maker, keep pressing next until you get to the screen where it ask you to enter the full name for that rom, then keep pressing next until you get to the last screen which displays the rom data.

Copy and paste that into your asr.dat file. To open your asr.dat file simply drag it into notepad. Save, start the emulator, and the game should now be listed in the avaliable only section.

it doesn't want to show up. I got Kawaks 1.46 where it shows a picture of a grl looking to the clouds there there is a boy in front of her with some kind of ship in the sky as the background pic.

I did what you said. Chose the zip, left it as NeoGeo hit next shows the program 269-p1.rom on the left side, hit next again then showed the info in green. I coped it into asr.dat below all the other rom information that was already in there and placed this at the end:

Is there supposed to be a bunch of %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% below Fix: 0. I also have Kawaks 1.46 configured to the correct location of the rom and also used 146loader.exe to try to find this. I'm not sure what im doing wrong here.

On system, try changing "Neo" to "NEO" (it helped me). Also, get rid of that "Create by RomData Maker" stuff at the top (I don't think you need it).

- Just incase put a "%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%" at the top and the bottom.

Ok, great. You got the correct rom data. But you need to change Neo to NEO and this is all you really need:

When you're done with all that start up Kawaks 1.46 + loader by clicking on the loader icon http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/5442/screenhunter18wa.jpg, pick Load Game, Only Avaliable, then rescan all, and it will show up in the list.

Yeah it appeared that there was a SNK vs Capcom (bootleg) in the list with the same name as svcplus. But the file names were like 269b-p1.rom not 269-p1.rom like I had. Renaming svcplus to svcplus1 worked.

I didn't rename mine so you shouldn't have to either. And what's with the 1 at the end? You don't need that.

You sure you got the right version of Kawaks (1.46+loader)?

screenhunter17zb.jpg

Also, make sure you don't already have svcplus data in the asr.dat cause it won't work if you add two of them.

Yeah i got all that checked, yes ive got 1.46+loader (has a little star for the icon) i put the data created by romdata into asr.dat, its in there once, i load winkawaks up, rescan all, nothing happens... would it be my rom?? but if it is, its works perfectly fine in NeoRage X.

NeoRageX is more flexible in how it handles missing/replaced rom sets is why you can likely get away with playing games on it that other emulators usually won't play

And you never click on loader?

This is strange... Kawaks won't recongnize any added games when I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 2 but it works just fine in SP1.

Maybe that's the reason your added games won't show up..
