So I download a zip file of Zelda - Ocarina of Time. It opens up into numerous files, some titled "Zelda - Ocarina of Time (E) (v1.0) ... .z64." Others say "Zelda - Ocarina of Time (U) (v1.2) ... .z64." Can someone explain what this all means, and which oen of these files I should load up when I want to play the game? Are ALL of them complete versions of the game? If so, why should I play one instead of another? Thanks!

Those mean different versions of the game and the (U), (E) and (J) are regions:

(U): USA.
(E): Europe.
(J): Japan.

Thanks! So let's say I'm in the USA and want to use one of the ones that has a (U), but there are a few of them - any way/reason to distinguish? Is it simply that one was created by one person and another by another?

E.g. I've got one called

Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.0) [f1].z64

and another called

" " (U) (V1.1) [T+Spa1.0].z64

Thanks!

Check the GoodCodes for more info. So this would mean the first one is a fixed version and the second one a Spanish translation.
In this case, just stick to the 'Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.?)' version.
