Better take care to make sure it isn't some kind of virus, unless you mean you are just downloading the game EXE.. But in that case if the ISO was corrupted, you'd have no idea how many files on it are corrupted either so it may just be a futile effort.
As they mentioned, you either have a bad ISO and the biggest biggest reason you have a hard time playing is your using outdated mounting softwar (and that was from my experience). I actually saw a site that shows what the average size of files are (forgot what it was), but see if you can compare it to the other ones floating around.
Good mounting software is daemon as mentioned, but try the alcohol 120 cd mount thing.
