Emulator Problem: Why cant epsxe 2.0.5 recognise 2 xbox 360 controllers

hi all hope you can help, I'm trying to run epsxe with two xbox 360 controllers I have them installed correctly with the wireless sensor and have checked they are both functioning correctly and they are, when I try to configure them in epsxe it only recognises one controller no matter what I do, I can configure controller one but not controller two they are both switched on and connected when I start and I am going config/gamepads/port 1/pad 1
and config/gamepads/port 2/pad 2 for controller 2, has anyone else had this problem or is there a plugin or something that I need, really don't know what is wrong
