Trouble with playing Final Fantasy VII (please help)

Kay so Hi, I'm new to the forum...and already I present a problem (sorry:p )

I've viewed the main threads regarding how to configure the emulator and followed them, I've also viewed other FF7 problem threads but can't seem to relate to them my problem...(and whoa, you guys are much nicer than this other *unnamed* forum that I went to...they didnt even let me register  )

I have been trying to play Final Fantasy 7 on two computers, and it hasn't worked on either of them...the one that I'm using right now, I configured ePSXe 1.6.0, I have the bios and all the plugins set up, but when I run the CD-Rom, it just displays a black screen where the emulation should be.....

I'm using this:
scph1001 - USA
Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.7
ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2k core 1.5.2

The Graphics plugin is configured this way:

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.7
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
GFX card: RADEON X300 x86/SSE2
Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 1
- Internal Y resolution: 1
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off
- No render-to-texture: off

- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: off
- VRam size: 0 MBytes
Framerate:
- FPS limitation: off
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto
Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 1
- Framebuffer effects: 2
- Framebuffer uploads: 1
Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: on
- Screen filtering: on
- Shader effects: 0/1
- Flicker-fix border size: 0
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: on [00000000]

I'm using Windows XP, Intel Pentium 4 3.40GHz, 1.00GB Ram. (Dont worry, its not my computer...lol I'm not that lucky yet.)

So far, this is the information that I myself know and can provide, if there's anything else that I should also provide, just tell me how to get the information and I will give it.

I hope you guys can help me....I really really want to play (I'm SO tired of playing ZSNES and Project64...wanna play the classic RPG for once)

Well,I hope to get to know everyone here...and thank you thank you THANK YOU for any help that you can give....

:) Aqib

have you tried to run it from an iso?

Also try an earlier version of pcsx or another ps1 emulator.

Latest version of PCSX works with it along with other emulators.....

ePSXe 1.6.0
ePSXe 1.5.2
PSXeven
PCSX
AdriPSX
FPSE
PSEmuPro (Some glitches)
PSinex (Little pain while viewing the cinematic sequence)
SSSPSX (Crashed!)

Plus, it is better that you change the GPU plugin such such as Pete's OpenGL 1.X, or P.E.Op.S GPU plugin to find out. (You need to configure them!)

And set the CD drive to a drive that your CD had been inserted in.

Good luck! :)

I have, I've tried changing the version, but the game just hangs as a black screen, there's no gameplay video.

I dont know a site.

And I've configured the emulator with D3D plugin, and the OpenGl plugin......just cant figure out how to get the right configuration for it to play......

does anyone have any ePSXe emulator all set up that they KNOW will play Final Fantasy VII that they can send me?

Please take note that every configuration that works on his/her PC will give different result to others PC. So it is better to check it by yourself.

Note : Registry...... I think I will make it for you if I have the time.

Hey thanks, I appreciate you doing it for me.

Seriously, I've tried so many times, I'm so frustrated over it.
