snes9x messed me up advice?

i had snes9x installed however all my .smc files and all my zip files with one file in them are recognized as snes9x files :mad:
i removed the SNES9X zip file to no avail, all advice appreciated. :)

If you're running XP, in Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), click on Tools, Folder Options, File Types, find the smc extension and either modify it to what you want, or just delete it.

In Windows 7, Microsoft decided the mere user can't have access to such advanced settings, so you need to hack the registry or download some tool to do it for you.
