Please help, Final Fantasy 9 problems

I'm playing Final Fantasy 9 on ePSXe using Petes D3D 1.76 driver. It works perfectly for the most part, but everytime either myself or the enemy casts two specific spells (Thundaga-single target, Water-single target) the casting animation goes on a continuous loop. The game still runs, it just won't advance past that one part. It sucks because I have run out of ways to avoid having the enemies use any of those spells. Any help would be appreciated.

Why don't you try other GPU plugin like P.E.Op.S GPU plugin instead? :)

Look at Pete's GPU plugin -> "special game fixes" -> enable "G4 poligon cache". Also you can check "off screen drawing" since some values might have a huge effect. If the problem it's the swirling effects, set "framebuffer textures" to "black"

Eternal SPU plugin has an especial option for FF9: "Update access before register", so I'd check it out.
