Kung Fu Panda 5 was later confirmed, with Stephanie Ma Stine, co-director of the fourth installment, as director, while Mitchell was confirmed as executive producer, together with Rebecca Huntley who returned as producer; Jack Black, Awkwafina, the Furious Five's voices ( Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, David Cross, Jackie Chan and Seth Rogen), Dustin Hoffman, James Hong and Bryan Cranston were confirmed to reprise their roles from the previous movies, while Haley Tju was confirmed as a new character, Princess Shuren: the rest of the cast, including Benedict Wong as the new antagonist, Lord Jiang, Dave Wong and Sandra Oh as the Emperor and Empress of China, Shuren's parents, and Jet Li as a golden snub nosed monkey Kung Fu master, became official after the release of the first trailer in the summer of 2026, featuring a cover of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger by Tenacious D ( the musical duo of which Jack Black is part), also heard in the end credits. The film will be released in the United States on February 5th 2027, just two days before the Chinese New Year, for which a special poster for the movie will be released.
