Can the new 3DS be hack?

Hello! I was wondering before I buy a 3DS if it can be hacked so I can play Game boy, nes, nds and 3ds roms on it.
I bought a 3ds last year but I've never really like how Nintendo works (you can delete your account for example and lose all your games) plus you can play every NDS and Game boy/Color/Advance or even NES on it.

So I'd like to know, is there a way to hack the new 3DS?
I know there are a few hacks around but are they legit?
If yes, what do I need and is it risky? (can the 3DS breaks for example? Before and/or after hacking it?)

Nintendo forces auto updating unless you set your internet to block their DNS servers.

To play snes games (albeit it won't be accurate as some PC emulators) use blargSNES, by StapleButter (who is the owner of Kuribo64 and an irritating bloke).
