    right analog spyro 1 2 3

I had this issue on another game, a while ago. I had to mess with the gamepad settings. As a first step go to "Tools ->Controller Test" and test that the gamepad you are using on your Duckstation responds correctly there. If it does not, mess around with the gamepad configuration a bit.

    Retroarch necessary evil

Retroarch can be convenient yes, not necessary. For example, I do not use it for systems that have optical media.

    HONKA-BALI-WOO-WOO

Reddit has its benefits. It is a valuable source when searching for solutions regarding technical issues. Other than that I agree that it has not done good when it comes to more "tight knit" communities that could result from forums. Unfortunately, the future will be "centralized" platforms.

Necroposting in this thread is fine. Also had to move your actual message to this topic since there seems to have been a duplicate.

    Question 64DD file

Click that wikipedia link and educate yourself on what the 64DD is. It was only released in Japan and had 10 games, that is all. You can safely ignore those.

    fullset arcade question

Pick a version of MAME, like 0.260 that you mentioned, and stick with that. Never update to a newer one. Just download what you want for that version.

    Question 64DD file

This is the 64DD. You can safely ignore that, it is only a few games and Japanese only. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64DD

    fullset arcade question

MAME is never complete. It always gets updated, sorry.

    fullset arcade question

MAME supports more systems, if that is what you are asking, and is larger in size. Also you need to keep updating it for every release.

    Question fullsets

"goodsets" stopped getting updates more than a decade ago. I have no idea how many games have been released on the Switch, but they are definitely not complete.

    Question fullsets

They are updated files + files from newer releases, like dumps from wii/Wiiu/switch virtual consoles

    Question fullsets

You said on your first message "I just like having all the games released with good dumps" Just keep what you have and is working for you, it is clear you will not be able to work out something else.
