ok, so i download a ROM, save it, still zipped, into the ROM folder of my MAME32, and i double click the game i downloaded, it says multiple files are missing, but i just downloaded them. whats going on?

When you open Mame32, go to the game you have installed in the list and scroll right. There will be a column called 'clone of', if that corresponds to the rom you installed then you have a clone (variant rom) and need to obtain the parent rom for that game to work.
Also if the game requires a CHD (large file 500Mb - 2Gb) then just having the rom won't work without the related CHD.
Finally right click the game entry in the list and click 'Audit'. If it comes up passed your game will now run, if it comes up with a load of missing files you have an old or bad dump and need to find an up to date or correct one.
What game are you trying to run and what is the rom file actually called?.

dungeons and dragons: shadow over mystara ( US 960209) im missing a lot of files from it. it is a clone though.

Ok the Euro version is the parent (which you need). What version of Mame32 are you using?. There were some significant changes made concerning CPS2 boards (of which this game is one) over the last few months.
You could try downloading an older version (Mame32 0.108 or thereabouts) from here and try it with that. In either instance you need to get the parent in order for any of the clone sets to work.

my version is MAME32k 0.64 i think. ive downloaded a ton trying to get this game to work.

Thats a very old build. Seems likely your rom/s are probably for newer builds of Mame. Try the most recent version.

Just keep looking in various sites and make sure ur d-loaded files r in megabyte amounts not in kb amounts that usually means its missing files or just named wrong its just trial and error keep trying ive about a dozen games or so.
