Super Mario World sound issues

Is it just me, or do some of the sounds in Super Mario World not sound right? The sound as you're going down a pipe or when you hit a mushroom, or shoot fireballs. Everything else sounds perfect except for those couple sounds.

This is the case across multiple roms I've obtained from multiple sources.

Any ideas?

Use ZSNES.
Sound is perfect.

or Snes9x, SNESGT, or BSNES (this one only if your PC is fast enough)
