Question about possible future in emulation (PS3 online play)

Hey guys... I wanted to ask your thoughts on something.

I'm a big Killzone 2 fan, and prefer it to Killzone 3. However, I worry about the servers being shut down one day. (Thankfully the Killzone 1 servers are still up, but I'm thinking about 10 years down the road.)

Here is my question: In 10-20 years when we do get PS3 emulation, do you think that we will be able to recreate online play?
Killzone 2 does not have LAN support..and I assume that would make online play difficult. The game's code would be trying to connect to the original servers and would require some sort of larger framework to work. I'm assuming that the game's code would have to be heavily modified, or new servers would have to be run by the fans for it to work.

I've heard of a Dreamcast game that has fan-run servers, but I don't know how they were able to do that. How hard do you think it would be to do this for Killzone 2 10-20 years own the road? Probable? Possible but not likely? Impossible?
