Choose your distro and folow this guide: https://flatpak.org/setup/

If you have ubuntu:

https://flatpak.org/setup/Ubuntu

If you have debian like me:

https://flatpak.org/setup/Debian

Install retroarch: https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.libretro.RetroArch

flatpak install flathub org.libretro.RetroArch

While you install you will be asked for installation path press y for yes and write your password.
To run:

flatpak run org.libretro.RetroArch

Then restart your operating system after restart retroarch will be working.

If you want use app image download it from here:

Scroll down to app iamge after you download it.

Unpack archive somewhere write in command line chmod +x its makes executable drag your app image on it and press enter.

And retroarch will be working every time after you pressed appimage.

Have fun.
