Hi Hi!
I tried to play Pokemon Snap on Project64 v1.6 and I can't seem to get the pictures of the sign to come out. Also, the little red dot thatz suppose to appear when ur about to take a picture doesn't appear. I activated the frame buffer thing on advanced control. Anybody have any ideas? Very much appreciated!
This is probably several years too late to be helpful, but I'd like to give an answer for anyone who might be looking for help on this issue still, which I know a lot are. I use the video plugin- Jabo's direct3D8 1.7.0.57-ver5 (I might have been a bit more specific than necessary), and I have the same issue. The red dot doesn't show, and activities triggered by taking pictures that identify Pokemon at the time of taking the picture are not triggered (such as a larger Lapras at the end of the Beach course or making Dugtrio appear AND THE SIGNS).
However, when you go to 'options' and down to 'Configure Graphics Plugin', and then to the 'Advanced' tab, you'll see a box you can check-mark labeled 'Software Rendering'. Checking that box makes your graphics awful, but it does enable the elusive Red Dot and all the benefits involved. I usually only check the 'Software Rendering' just before I actually
need the Red Dot, then uncheck it again afterwards. But a pre-warning before you do that, after you un-check the box again, the camera will label pokemon for the rest of the course. Only half the time is it actually right, for I took several pictures of Digglet after unchecking the box and it said that it was a Haunter (?). Thus, Pikachu did not run over to the next Digglet location.
But, half the time it does work after you un-check the box. So, I guess you could go through that at the very beginning of every course if you really wanted to, sometimes I do.
