Using this quad core and getting really bad results...

My specs:

AMD A8-3520M X4
6620 G + 7450M
6 GB 1333 MHz Cas 9 RAM
Windows 7 Enterprise

My CrossFire is turned off (not by my choice... driver issue.) so that may be part of the reason I cant get decent FPS visually, but I just plain cant get decent FPS on any game. I honestly dont know what settings to put. Any suggestions? I've heard of lesser processors getting better results and I just cant replicate them no matter how I screw with the settings.

Trying to turn this computer into an emulator station (GBA, NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, PS1, PS2, PSP, Dreamcast) since I'm trying to drop out of high end gaming (too expensive and addictive!) and I have all the above system and love their games-- but the physical systems themselves are mostly in shambles (missing controllers, broken cartridges, etc...) so a emulator station is the idea here.

Any suggestions to make PCSX2 run faster?
