speed computer Software?

Hello theres this software ive seen.It like fast forwards your pc apps and everything.It doesnt clean anything out literaly speeds up your pc like a video tape.When you open up this program,It looks like a small black window pops up with switches.And once you click on these switches.Your pc spped up X3.Like pressing fast forward on a video....Well If anyone knows the software im Talking about.What is it called??????Would greatly apperciate help..Laterz
