    Default Help

I hate for my first post to be one requesting help but I am at a loss.
I downloaded a patch to translate a japanese snes rom to english, but i cant get it to work. I have tried soft patching it with zsnes and hard patching it with various ips programs and nothing works, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you got the wrong rom (different version like 1.0 and 1.1), rom already patched, broken header thing or you got bad dump rom. Usually translation patch need specific version.

You could try adding a header to the ROM. You can use NSRT to do this.

A header is a small part of a ROM which is (normally) added by a copier. It is not part of the actual carts contents, so you can remove it for the emulators for most systems.
If you have a copier, f.e. the Super Wild Card, your ROM needs a Super Wild Card header to play on that copier. There are plenty of proggies to add and remove headers (Ucon64, NSRT, SnesTool, etc.).
    Most translations need a header.

Uh... I am not sure I understand.

Also, why the most translations need a header ?
