There's nothing wrong with Gmail IMHO. I use it for most business and some personal contacts and I never had any problems or any need for additional features.

Gmail can send emails with an other emailadress
I linked my school account to my gmail and if I need to reply the teachers I can choose my school adress so they don't see I'm using gmail
