Default Kirby crystal shards 64 help

I know there was another post like this but there was never an answer in it and the problem is that only some of the buttons work like a,b,z but none of the moving ones like up down left right. Normaly i wouldnt post somthing like this if i didnt know there was an answer but the last person that posted this said he got it to work somehow. I do know that its not my controller settings because all my other games work. Any ideas?

I think Kirby 64 works with the D-Pad instead of the analog stick.

While this topic's still active.. I have a question. It might just be my specific dump, but I can't seem to go through doors or access new areas. Any idea what might be causing it? To my knowledge I'm not using any specific graphics plugins in PJ64, and I know I'm not using any cheats. So, anybody know what's up with it?
