Hi! I am new to this, so I am probably missing something easy, but I have searched everywhere (Google, forums, etc.) and I can't find the help I need.
I am running the newest version of Nestopia on my Windows XP computer. I just got a USB psx converter so I can use a PSX controller. When I plug it in, my system detects the new USB device and says it is ready to go. But I have no idea how to set up Nestopia to use it!
From the Options menu, I go to Input. From there it seems like I should be able to set up one of the Game Pads (pad 3, I guess) for my controller. So I click on Game Pad 3. Then I go to the Mapping area and feel like I should be able to click on each item on the list and map it by pressing the corresponding button on the controller. But nothing seems to happen when I do that. It just moves to the next item and shows "(joy 0) 0" for the item I was just on.
One last thing, my USB converter works for PSX controllers or N64 controllers, and there is a switch on it, which I guess goes back and forth between the two. When I have the switch flipped the other way and repeat this mapping process, still nothing happens, but this time it shows "(joy 0) +y" for the item I was just on.
If anybody can see what I'm doing wrong, or maybe give a step-by-step for setting up a controller, I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks a lot!
