New Mame too powerful ?

I have been using the same Mame32 program for the past 3 years and never had a case of slowdown or glitches with even the most advanced roms.

I wanted to play some of the newer games, so I downloaded Nebula and the latest version of Mame. Nebula works great. But the new Mame is a piece of crap. Nothing runs smooth like it did before ( ex. Guwange, EspRaDe ). The game I really want to play , Crystal(s) of the King, barely loads at all. My specs:
Chip: 1.1 Gig
Memory: 384 Ram
Geforce 2

Is the new Mame too much for my CPU, or is a setting probably wrong? Please advise. Thanks.

MAME is taking more cpu power than ever these days but it is getting better with every new release i have a 1.8 ghz so far i can run everthing (for now anyway) sometimes when you update your drivers it wil slow down your pc.

Instead of Nebula, use Kawaks! And instead of MAME use Mame32FX! And yea they complety redid the display driver as of 0.107 so try and get 0.106
