help with the vba codes on fire red

ok sry if this is a dumb question but its also my first post.

i have pokemon fire red for vba on mac and i need help with the gameshark codes.

for some reason every method i try doesnt work. i am trying to do the wild pokemon modifer thing. I type in the master code, then i start my game and save and then i try to do other codes but it doesnt work. It doesnt say error or if its not a real code or anything, it just starts up my game but none of them work. if someone could help me out on this that would be great.

you have to put both of teh codes at teh same time...
Also do a forum search this question has been asked many times.

First Put Slot 1 in then slot 2 but both in 1 cheat box then put slot 3 and 4 in seperatly
