Tweaking Game Speed

Hello there.
I use ePSXe and it works fine.
However, on my laptop it runs really fast under petes soft video plugin (about 2x normal speed).
I think it has something to do with frame limits and such.

Well, I actually like it when the game runs at 2x speed for certain parts (faster travelling and such). So, how do I go about getting my computer to emulate at about twice the speed like my laptop does?

Butters i just tried and it didnt do anything but screw up the graphics it looked crappy..... oh well.... that would at more time to the game as well i suppose and i wanna beat ff VIII asap so i guess i dont wanna do than neway....

Well yaa I've tried that of course..
My FPS sits around 50 no matter what the settings.
Is it possible that the laptop runs ff7 faster despite my computer being faster in most specs?

I'll compare the specifications for anyone who may be able to take a stab at it.

My Computer:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1.84 GHz, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro

My Laptop:
Intel 2.13 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, Ati Mobility Radeon X300
