ePSXe Trouble (Final Fantasy 6)

Hi, i recently tried to play final fantasy 6 with ePSXe. it loaded up fine and went to the menu but none of the buttons worked. There was no trouble when i played final fantasy 8 (stuck on the battle against ultimacia lol), and i tried fiddling with the settings and i know theres nothing wrong with the cd (coz i tried it in a PS and it worked fine), but it just doesn't seem to want to work. Any help on this will be appreciated...
