Dreamcasts after 2001?

I know DC's prior to 01, can boot burned games and have them work without doing really anything.

Then 2001, Sega released some upgrade, so if you have a DC made post-01, can you still play burned games if you mod your DC?

I wish i knew tho, because both of my dc systems are july 1999 and aug 1999.

Ok, I got a Dreamcast, and on the bottom, the date said, "Manufactuared September 2000".

So, I should be able to boot downloaded games, right?
