    Question MAME LAN server question

Is there an option to setup a LAN network server for 2 ppl that wanna play fighting games without internet access and the 2 computers are right next to each other in the same home.??

Is there one or is it only doable via netplay?

You have to use a netplay enabled version of MAME. A popular netplay client for MAME is Kaillera, found here http://www.kaillera.com/

You need at least one PC to download and setup the Kaillera server. After that, you can look for a MAME client with Kaillera compiled into it, to allow netplay access. Then instead of joining an internet server, just connect to the IP of the local computer running the server.

If its only a 2 player game on your local network, you can also use the recently released peer to peer client with your kaillera enabled emulator. Its also easier to configure than your server and does not require the use of a server: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=528962

Basically, you will need to download one of the latest kaillera enabled mame builds (think the latest one was mame++k0.117u2) and paste the kailleraclient.dll from that zip file in the same folder as your mameppkgui.exe. And then configure things as you would normally do with MAME+. Then you can load kaillera by going File->start netplay from the menu. When you are there on both of the machines, one person can host and other person can connect to the host using his ip.

    Hope it helped =)
