If you can't load it using File > Run ISO and try selecting show All Files you may need a program that will create a virtual drive for you like Daemon Tools. Then mount the .mdf on the virtual drive and File > Run CD-ROM. Then you may also need to make sure you've got the virtual drive selected in the CD-ROM plugin.

FYI, .mdf files are images for the burning program Alcohol 120%.

Alcohol 120% doesn't "mount" .mdf files, it creates them. Use Daemon Tools or some other prog that creates virtual drives. As far as I know you can't load .mdf files directly.

Alcohol 120% has virtual drivers too.

You can configure your PSX plugin to either read the disc in the virtual drive, or you can use an Image mounting plugin instead and just mount the image in the emulator. I'm not sure if it will read MDF's though.

Look around your plugin options and you should be able to select the virtual drive letter, or something like that
