Any good Homebrew Roms out there?

I was wondering if anybody knows if there are any good games that don't exsist on an acutal game cartrige. I think the game makers made a big mistake jumping to the 3d platform so quickly. They could have taken 2d a lot further.. Anyway..
If anybody knows of any good games please let me know.
