GBA EM problems

I know squat about emulators so I had one emailed to me and i downloaded it and LoZ-MC. The download took nearly an hour far longer than the GBC download. Anyway, I'm trying to fuse Kinstones and I can't keep the subscreen open that shows the kinstones. When it opens it closes within 2 seconds. And the hurty-gurty players keeps asking, What's wrong."

1. What is wrong?
2. I also cannot bring up my map screen.
3. When I click the default joypad to try and set my own keys, nothing happens. It won't click over.


If you are willing to help, I'm willing to learn.

What emulator are you using?

Keep in mind the download was emailed to me, as i know squat about them. I think it called " VisualBoyAdvance. " Also one of the settings inside the "emulator" under options is set for GBC/CGB or something like that. I deleted the thing after trying again and again to use the kinstone controls. If that's not the name then I'll have to contact the guy who sent it to me who is testing at school for a few days this week. However, I will post back...and thanks for replying. I was thinking I was in a warp zone or something with no one answering an em question in an emulator site.
