I can't get Lunar Silver Star to play on my Gens 2.10-mk1 emulator. It will go as far as the title screen then freeze up at a black screen. I've tried it with and without Perfect Synchro.

You can try a newer version, Gens 2.12b, also Gens32 or Kega Fusion. Perhaps a BIOS problem, those are recommended:
us_scd1_9210.bin (American)
eu_mcd1_9210.bin (European)
jp_mcd1_9112.bin (Japanese)

If you're not using a legit disc, and its ISO +MP3 you may be running into problems with the tracks. I believe a few games suffer from this kind of problem when incorrectly put into the format. It has something to do with the time-code on the MP3's or something like that
MP3 codecs encoding and decoding processes are incorrect with track lenghts, a few frames are usually added or deleted. It's not common to find a problem with this, but it's possible because those tracks and images are incorrect anyway. Also wrong CUEs created with CloneCD, ISObuster or others might be a problem.
