2) Does anyone know the emulator 1964 (A Nintendo 64) controls work. Eg whats A button on the keyboard etc. Cheers

1. WinRAR.
2. Go to the input configuration and map the keys by yourself.
1. Or the freeware 7-zip

rar is a form of compression, you can find freeware downloads of programs to uncompress the files, such as WinRar and many others. as far as mapping keys on a PC, i have not a clue, i do all my gaming on my modded xbox.
I know how you feel, i came here looking for help to, but to no avail.

@ Wallij: I suggest you using Project64 as well, still a better emulator than 1964. Anyway:
1964: Menu "Plug-ins" -> "Input settings"
PJ64: Menu "Options" -> "Configure controller plugin"
