how do i play the ps one game using my usb joy stick?

how do i configure it at the game pab section? how to make epsxe detect my usb joystick and let me use it to play? or we can only play the ps one game using the keyboard?

Make sure the joypad (not joystick) drivers are properly installed and configured. To configure the joypad, go to the Windows' Control Panel and then select Game Devices. Calibrate the joypad if needed and then go to ePSXe and go to the input configuration, then all you have to do is to assign the buttons.

Ah, most USB pads are Plug and Play, so you don't have to install the drivers.

And then on ePSXe, menu "Config" -> "Gamepad" -> "Pad 1" to map the buttons as you prefer
