That's the worst argument I ever heard!
Good ones are Golden Sun 1&2, Lunar, Pokemon, Final Fantasy.
For strategic RPGs Tactics Ogre, FF Tactics and Fire Emblem are also nice.

My favorite has got to be FF tactics...took me quite a while to beat...something like 20 hours?
