Default Is there anyway to run old skool games on PS2

I am a complete novice when it comes to the type of issues / problems left on the forums so I apologise in advance if I am usig the incorrect terminology or phases, but I am hoping one of you super talented experts out there may be able to help me.

I have an opportunity to purchase the code to the back catalogue of an old publisher that made games for the Spectrum, Commodore, Amstrad, Amiga, Atari ST etc.

My idea is to somehow get these games to run on a PS2 or other video games platforms and then sell them over the internet or to games retailers, my first thoughts would be to have them reprogrammed into PS2 language but this could be a lot of money for very little reward. Then I remembered I had used an emulator many years ago which allowed me to play old video games on my pc.

Is it possible to have say approx 20 games of an old format burnt onto a cd rom with a piece of software / emulator which would then allow them to be played on a PS2.?

If anyone out there can help or knows whether this is possible please let me know. Also let me know if I am living in a pipe dream and you know with certainty that it is impossible to get what I want. I would appreciate that just as much.

Many thanks in anticpation of your help.
