Control isues

I downloaded the snes emulator and roms for it. Everything loads fine, the graphics and sound works properly.
But the control imput function is all screwed up. I've tried reinputting the controls, restarting th computer, even redownloaded the emulator files, but nothing seems to fix it.

What SNES emulator do you refering to?

Are you using a keyboard or a PC/Adaptor controller?

I'm using the snes9x.
I've tried both the keyboard and joypad. Its holding down the directional button for no reason.

Try ZSNES.

Try reinputting the configuration with something else. Or you may try ZSNES as Vamp said.
