    Default Chrono Cross Battle Issues

I searched through the other Chrono Cross threads and could not find a solution to my problem. Anyway, When playing Chrono Cross, when I use ePSXe 1.5.2 and enter a battle, I cannot input any commands, wether using a keyboard or a controller; the battle still runs, I just can't do anything. When using ePSXe 1.6.0, when I try to use an element, the framerate slows to about 5, wether it was previously 25 or 170, so it takes close to a minute to be able to use an element. It seems like it is the whole emulator that is slowing down however, because it takes a long time to minimize as well. I would rather not use PSXeven if I don't have to, as it is not compatible with my controller. My video driver is PEOpS Soft driver 1.17, with the odd/even bit hack fix enabled, my sound driver is Eternal SPU plugin 1.41. I have a 2.83GHz Pentium 4 and a NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440. I also tried inserting the -noauto line in the shortcut target, but I am given a message saying the name is not valid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use input plugins with PSXeven if that's the problem, N-Rage for example. It might also be a sound related problem, I'd try Eternal SPU (1.50 is the last version, so check it) with the first "special game fixes". P.E.Op.S soft GPU is more compatible than other video plugins, but Pete's Direct3D or OpenGL might get better performance with your video card. Otherwise SSSPSX, Xebra or pSX are pretty decent emulators

Neither the video nor the sound drivers advice helped, but thanks alot for bringing those video drivers to my attention. The Petes Direct 3d one is much clearer than the other one I was using. Anyway, it seems to work in PSXeven, so I suppose I'll try this N-rage plugin and use that.
    Thanks.

I can doubt that is the graphic card that fail to make the game looked smoothly.

You should try 'Fast' setting on any Pete's GPU plugin and limit the FPS speed to 60.
