I need help with epsxe please

Ok, here is my situation. I have followed the sticky thread on how to configure the epsxe, which I have done thouroughly. So i have gotten/setup the plugins, i have the bios where it belongs. However, whenever I choose to run BIOS or run a cd/ISO, it goes to a black screen like it is starting up, then it just closes itself out with no warning or message, it just quits. The game ISO i was using in question was valkyrie profile, which is a good file. I don't know if any of these specs will help but i do have a ge-force fx 5200 256 mb card, because my best guess was maybe it had something to do with the video. Also another thing i would like to note: whenever you do the configuration wizard, the part where it is suppose to find the BIOS, I downloaded the correct one and stuck it in the correct directory just like the guide told me, however whenever it goes to search for it, i get an error saying it isn't there. I even tried renaming it to SCPH1001.BIN and still the autosearch doesn't recognize it. So whenever you get that box with the white text box where you are suppose to pick one, it doesn't show anything. However i went under config-> BIOS and browsed for the file in the BIOS directory(although I had to change the file format that was allowed to be looked for to ALL FILES). I hope I have given plenty of information to find help, please help me, i have been racking my brain on this for almost a whole day now. All help is greatly appreciated in advance, thankyou.

Try other video plugins.
Re-download the PSX BIOS files...SCPH1001.BIN or SCPH7001.BIN.
Your PC specs are OK,but have you tried other games ?

i get an error saying it isn't there.

I guess your bios is not correct. (both my bioses got 512k,if that helps)

Well, i followed your advice, and you were right. I just needed to redownload/find a new download for the bios file. After I fixed that it runs, so thankyou very much for the suggestion. Now I just need to work on a sound plugin for valkyrie profile so the music isn't gimping or laggy. Thankyou once again, now that I get the idea I can help some other people out in the future.

For Valkyrie Profile, use Eternal SPU (sound) plugin, then enable SPU IRQ hack option
