    Default Optimising emulators

whenever i run mame after a while the program will just shut itself down. whenever i run nebula after a while it will just restart my comp. i don't have the best computer processor or speed and i don't plan to update it (no money ).

i'm just wondering what options i should turn off in the emulators to put the pressure off my comp and run the games at a decent speed without fear of it crashing.

It's not the emulators that do that.Something hardware/software.
    Or virus/trojan.

A friend of mine has an old Pentium III 500 Mhz...and runs Mame fine.(except MKII,III and others like that).

If this post somewhat offends your silly arse, then I proved my point.
You have been warned so don't cry to your momma about it later on...or any mods for that matter.

Check your drivers. I think there's where the problem is.

It'll be better to tell us your system specs. You'll get more help.
