I can't save. (Pokemon LG)

I'm playing Pokemon Leaf Green on the VBA, and I can't save the game. This hasn't been a problem so far, because I could use the F-buttons to force save, but now that I've beaten the Elite Four, I need to save normally and then reload to keep playing. I keep getting an error that tells me to change the backup memory, and that the 1M sub-circuit board is not installed. What the hell does that mean?

The correct save types are already checked, and I've made a vba-over file with help from some people on another forum. Here's what they told me to put in it:

rtcEnabled=0
flashSize=131072
saveType=0

It still doesn't work.

Probably you need to remove your save file to make work, so make a backup and use save sates instead

same here... i use ctrl save.. nth happen.. when load.. same too
