Default where is the best place to for pd dev

I guess I could have used other topic areas, but was not sure. The question is bout PD development on the n64 box. I don't think this crosses any rules here..

Really all I'm looking for is a good resource. Any URL's or tutorial to start with. I'm a programmer at heart, and have a mission. What ever any one has on PD (public domain) Development will be appreciated.

It looks as though I may not be able to write it for the 64, I don’t think many have written 3d games yet. Although I'm still looking. I may just brake done and write it in good old C++. Mario64 2 , hmmm.. Nice idea. But my goal is to make Metriod64. I Love Nintendo, and always have. Nothing brings me back like good old sequel's. I may not make many friend saying this but A big F' you to N for killing my favorite game of all time and trashing it by making a first person shooter out of it. Going to be a fun project , and I hope I can some how get it to run on the 64. Mario Forever was a success, If its windows platform the so be it.
