I'm new to emulation and have gotten gameboy, 8-bit and 16-bit systems to work on my computer. I've tried getting 32-bit systems (Playstation, Neo Geo, Sega Dreamcast, N64, etc.) to work on my system but have failed. The one I really want to get working is Playstation. Is it possible to actually play Playstation games on a PC or just to burn Playstation roms onto CD from a PC source in order to play them in a playstation console? I used to have a playstation console but no longer. My only available console is my labtop. Is it possible to burn ROMS of playstation games onto a CD-R from a PC and then boot the CD to play on a PC? Are remnants of playstation games even called ROMS (ISO's, CDI's, ACE's, etc.)? If it is possible to play playstation games on PC, what are the minimum requirements for the PC to run the games smoothly (Hardware and Software specifications, please)? Is it easier to just purchase the original games in CD format and then run them on a PC? I've downloaded most everything required to get the job done but have yet to have these basic questions answered from anyone. Please tell me what I need to download, what its for, how to use it, and where to get it. At the very least please point me in the right direction.
