2.0-1.5 downgrade problems

i got all the folders and files set up right. when i go to the photo icon in the psp and press x, the screen freezes for 5 sec and the psp turns off, and i cant find the 1.5 downgrade thing in the menu afterwards. the files do nothing. from what i hear on the internet this downgrade thing isnt complete BS so plz help a n00b get this thing working

edit: i found the downgrade and it says that the psp is already at 2.00 and there is no reason to update. So the hacks arent working...

Try reformating you memory (Backup any save games and media on your computer first) and Download the downgrader from pspupdates as they seem the most reliable source for anything to do with psp. And follow the instruction that come in the zip file. Note that psp from tiawan and hong kong cant be downgraded not matter what firmware you have.
