The controls for mame

ok.. i downloaded this mame emulator an it works perfect but, how do u fix the controls for this.

If you mean how to configure the buttons, hit the tab key. You can configure per game (the one that is running) or for all games. Just arrow down to the button you need hit enter then press the correct joystick button. If nothing shows then mame is not aware of your joystick(s).

You need to enable the joystick input first. If you're using MAME32 or derivate: "Default game options" -> "Controllers" tab" -> check "Enable joystick input" and the "Digital joystick axes".

Otherwise, with command line MAME, you need to create a "mame.ini" first. Run "mame -cc". The .ini name should match the mame executable, for example, mamepp.exe -> mamepp.ini. Then open "mame.ini" and find this line

joystick                0

Replace "0" for "1".
