HELP ME

Hi. Just want to let everyone know first off that I'm an idiot when it comes to computers, etc.

I know this guy who has an X-box, but you can play any game from any system on it. I think they're downloaded onto the system because you don't use any disks or anything. I heard from someone else that you can download all these games using emulators. I would like to this to my boyfriends X-box for Christmas, but I'm completely lost!! I heard you have to first hook your X-box up to the internet, and I don't even know how to do this!

Could someone please explain to me in very simple terms;

1) How to hook your X-box up to your computer (and what you need to do this)

2) How to put games from different systems onto the X-box (do you have to download the different emulators or something?)

I would GREATLY appreciate it if someone could take the time to help me with this!!!
