Mame32 - Audit List Incorrect?

I'm having a problem with my audit list. For example:

X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, San Francisco Rush as well as Street Fighter 3 - 3rd Strike are all listed under the "All Games" list.

Buy when I put the roms in the rom folder and audit the list they still do not appear under the "Available" games list.

I've verified that the roms are the correct versions and I've downloaded them from several different sites with the same results.

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure that you put the ROMs on the same folder. And try to audit the Romset to see what is missing if possible.

Note : Killer Instinct needs chd file while Street Fighter 3 is not playable.

you may need updated bios files witch version of M.A.M.E. are you using

The version is MAME32 0.101 (Oct. 8 2005). I didn't know you could update the bios? How and where would I do that?

I download all my files directly into the "roms" folder of MAME so I don't think that's the problem. I know my problem is in the auditing process. I'll use Killer Instinct as an example:

In the "All Games" games menu MAME has Killer Instinct (v1.3) and Killer Instinct (v1.4) listed. I downloaded those versions of the game from two separate sites (to insure the problem wasn't just a bad file). I audit the list and get the same results for both games. Below is the info I get from v1.3:

kinst13 : u10-l1 524288 bytes NOT FOUND (shared with parent)

I was under the impression that any games listed in the "All Games" games menu of MAME will be playable as long as you download the correct rom version?

Re: MAME32 Help - Audit List

What you got there is a bad rom.
Mame identifies the CRC on each file, and also requires the CORRECT files to play the game.Street Fighter III is not emulated yet,and for certain games,Killer Instinct for example you need and adittional CHD file which is in a bigger size than the rom itself. To find Killer Instinct .chd file use google or a p2p share program.

At last,NOT ALL games listed as available are playable, and more recent arcade games have POOR framerates.Hope I helped.(u need another K.Instinct rom)

Unfortunately not 100% playable as you hoping for in 'All Games'. Normally 'All Games' will be included working, unplayable, hacked, or working but minor problems on emulations etc.....

As for Killer Instinct, you will need to download kinst.chd file from torrent file as that file is too big to be downloaded as far as I know (I never try, so ask someone else who did it).

Note : You should see game status somewhere (it could be below) whether the game is fully working or not.

Thanks for the info everyone? Are people even still dumping arcade ROMs anymore? Does that mean we can hope that one day some one will get some of the unplayable ROMs working?

Yeah, they still dumping ROMs as usual but trying to manage most of the games working in MAME is just matter of time. :)
