ePSXe help(plugins/settings)

-WinXP Home SP2
-756mb ram
-64mb nvidia agp
-Pentium 4 2.0ghz

Using either epsxe 1.52 or 1.6. What plugins should I use for sound/graphics? It's been a while since I used a psx emulator and I would like to know what are the best plugins/settings to use on these emulators. Before, when I had everything setup right EVERY game I had would run perfect, no lag, sound was crisp, everything was fine. For some reason I'm having problems with the game going to fast or too slow or the sound being a little rough or not keeping up with the actual game(sound will be too slow)
