Default Mame Screen size? Newbie Question

I am new to mame and I have a couple of basic questions, I think.

    1. When playing old time classics like DigDug or Donkey kong, how do you get the screen size to keeps its original format oof being taller vertical rather than the 4:3 screen size?
    2. If I were to build a cabinet for games do I put the monitor in, in a 4:3 format or a 3:4 format and is the software able to rotate the games 90 degrees if I put it in 3:4?

Mame can rotate games and if you have a rotating LCD monitor the better...
You can also change screen size anyway you want...
Use mame32 plus!...it has an easy to use front-end...

I hate half of you...especially the dumb ones.
Some of you are on my blacklist and so shall be any asswife that tries to prove he's worth anything.
If this post somewhat offends your silly arse, then I proved my point.
You have been warned so don't cry to your momma about it later on...or any mods for that matter.
