i did all that was said to do but how do i get the game to read the controller i went into the default game options and switched to joypad but couldnt find where to change the button mapping do i need to download a diff version please help lorenzohernandez@msn.com

When you start Mame go to Default Game Options > Controllers tab > check enable joysticks. Make sure P1 is set to ID1 and P2 is set to ID2.

Default Input layout should be set to Default.

Click Apply then Ok.

When you start a game press Tab and go to Input This Game to set your controls.
