Could someone help me?

Alright so yesterday I was asking around forums to see if I could edit game files (replace one sound file with a different sound file), and he told me I needed an emulator.

So basically here's the thing: I now have the "Dolphin" emulator, I have a Gamecube game I want to edit, and I have no idea on how to do any of this.

If the guy was just messing with me and an emulator has nothing to do with this, sorry. But I could really use this help. Thanks

With GC games, I think you won't have a chance of doing that. Furthermore, emulators have nothing to do most of the times appart from test the results of that Rom hacking. I'd start with NES or GB Roms are easier to hack, but you need at least some tools, hex edit knowledge specially.
